Instructions on How to Fill Out the Check-In Form for the Mountain Stage 2024

With just over a month remaining until the inaugural mountain stage of L'Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France, it's high time we ask you, the participants, for more detailed information related to your participation in the race.

To this end, everyone who registers for the race by July 14 will receive a unique link in their email, which will direct them to the 2024 check-in form. These links will be sent out from July 15 to July 17. Essentially, the check-in form is an extended registration, where you will first verify the information you have already provided, and then add details regarding your start corral assignment, meal selection for the pasta party, or purchase additional race entries or some nice merchandise.

Participants who register on July 15 or later will have the check-in form included in the registration itself.

IMPORTANT: If you want to be correctly placed at the start, have your name on your race number, or have your Race Packet sent to your address, you must complete the check-in form or race registration no later than Friday, July 26 by 12:00 PM (noon)!

Step 1 - Recap of Information and Race Details

Verification of Registration Details

In the first part of this step, you can review the information you provided during registration and make any necessary corrections. We particularly recommend paying close attention to ensuring your address is correct, especially for those of you who will choose to have your Race Packet delivered through Zásilkovna in the week before the race.

Step 2 - Selection of Basic Services

Delivery/Pick-up of Race Packet

The first question allows you to choose how you want your Race Packet delivered. The reliable ZÁSILKOVNA service will deliver your packet to the address provided (which can be updated in the previous step) during the week before the race. This delivery option costs 150 CZK. We highly recommend this option, as it allows you to prepare everything calmly at home and arrive at the race site ready. Alternatively, you can pick up your packet on Friday or Saturday before the race at the race office.

Meal Selection for Pasta Party

The second question concerns the meal selection for the pasta party after the race. You can choose between two recipes, one containing meat and the other vegetarian.

Expected Average Speed and Race Strategy

The following questions ask for your expected average speed and race strategy. Both answers influence your placement in the starting corral. If you select a high expected speed and the response "racing for position," we will try to place you in one of the front starting blocks. If you select a lower speed and the response "racing for fun," you will be placed further back in the corral to avoid congestion at the start.

Special Groupetto Option

If you choose the special groupetto option, you will be placed roughly in the middle of the starting corral. Note that with this category, your time will be recorded, but you will not be included in the overall ranking. The only parameter that matters is the time limit. The guide and pacemaker for the groupetto is Tomáš Bábek.

Selection of the Special HEROES Competition Category

The ambassador for the HEROES category is Ján Svorada. This category is open to all enthusiasts of vintage bikes made before 1993. The requirements include frame-mounted shifters and stylish cycling attire, complemented by either vintage or modern helmets. Complete rules can be found in the event regulations.

Step 3 - Selection of Additional Services

None of these paid services are mandatory, but each can elevate your experience of the event to a higher level.

Accommodation at the Youth Hostel

Through the check-in form, we offer accommodation from Friday to Sunday at the Youth Hostel ("Intr"). It's about 500 meters from the race center, with affordable prices and incredible views. The capacity is limited. Most rooms have been recently renovated and offer 2 or 3 beds with shared bathroom facilities. (A unit of 2+3 rooms shares one bathroom).

In the check-in form, you can purchase either a complete unit for 5 people or a complete 2-bed or 3-bed room. This means that if you are a group of 5, one of you can book the entire unit.

Parking at Official Race Parking Lots (200 CZK Saturday)

Prachatice is a small town, and if every participant arrives by car, it could be a problem. Therefore, we have introduced paid parking to encourage carpooling. The parking fee is 200 CZK per car, and you can park from Friday to Sunday or just on Saturday. The number of spots is limited to 350, so we recommend booking early!

Official Campsite

At a beautiful location overlooking the whole town, we have set up an official campsite. You can park your caravan, trailer, or pitch a tent. The campsite will have electrical hookups and a sufficient number of portable toilets. One campsite spot from Friday to Sunday costs 1,200 CZK.

Hearty Pre-Race Breakfast

A Saturday breakfast buffet at the Cultural Hall on the square in Prachatice. It includes meats, cheeses, scrambled and boiled eggs, muesli, yogurt, fruits, vegetables, spreads, bread, coffee, water, and juice. The price is 320 CZK per person.

VIP Hospitality

If you want to provide extra comfort for yourself or your loved ones, you can order access to the VIP zone for 3,000 CZK per person. VIP hospitality is open on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Physio Rehab Zone and SportHelp Membership

Our partner, SportHelp, offers excellent care in case of injury, from special injury insurance to quick appointments with the appropriate specialists. This year, SportHelp will have a Physio Rehab zone in the L'Etape village. You can order a massage from experienced physiotherapists, special short-term injury insurance, healthcare organization, or a combination of both through the check-in form.

Step 4 - Official Merchandise

In this step, you have the opportunity to perfect your style with our designer pieces. Whether it's t-shirts, caps, hoodies, or stylish (and lightweight) water bottles, you can find something to elevate your gear.

Step 5 - Completion, Payment, and Updating Your Race Card

If you haven’t ordered anything during the check-in process, you won’t need to pay, and you can complete the check-in process right away. Otherwise, the system will prompt you to make a payment through the payment gateway.

If you have downloaded your Race Card on your mobile device, which was issued to you right after registration, the information you entered in the check-in form will automatically update on the card. If you haven't downloaded it yet, use the provided link or displayed QR code to download it. It will be useful to have.
