TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: MOUNTAIN STAGE 2024
PERMISSION FOR THE RACE
Decisions permitting the sports event, road closures, and temporary traffic signage are issued for the entire race route. Entry for public automotive and cyclist traffic will be prohibited at specified times along the route. Closures will be managed using temporary traffic signs, with several hundred personnel in reflective vests assisted by members of the Czech Republic Police and Prachatice Municipal Police.
We are informing about the event through our media partners, articles in various council publications, and distributing over 15,000 information leaflets to residents and businesses along the race route.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the closures and especially ask all drivers to respect the current measures and avoid entering the race course during the times indicated on the traffic signs.
Violation could result not only in penalties from the relevant authorities but also poses a risk to the lives of the competitors.
TRAFFIC AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN PRACHATICE LONG-TERM RESTRICTIONS
The race hub is located at Velké náměstí in Prachatice. The entire square area including sidewalks will be closed from Thursday, August 15th, at 16:00 until Sunday, August 18th, at 20:00.
Inner city streets will be closed to traffic from Friday, August 16th, at midnight until Saturday, August 17th, at 20:00.
Zahradní Street, between Zvolenská and Družstevní Streets, will be closed with no parking allowed from Friday, August 16th, at midnight until Saturday, August 17th, at 20:00.
Hradební Street from the roundabout at Zlatá stezka to the junction with SNP Street, Solní Street, and Dlouhá Street will be closed from Friday, August 16th, at midnight until Saturday, August 17th, at 22:00.
Entry will be permitted for traffic control on Friday. Residents of closed areas can pick up entry cards at the race office. Traffic will be regulated by the organizer on both Friday and Saturday.
Parking at "Buzerplac" and Krumlovská Street will be reserved for race participants on Friday, August 16th, and Saturday, August 17th.
SHORT-TERM RESTRICTIONS ALONG THE RACE ROUTE THROUGH PRACHATICE
Departure route through Malé náměstí, Pivovarská, and Husinecká Streets will be briefly closed (up to 20 minutes) between approximately 12:45 and 13:10.
Arrival route via Lázně Sv. Markéty and streets Zlatá stezka, Jánská, Zahradní, and Malé náměstí will be closed to all automotive and cyclist traffic from approximately 15:00 to 18:30.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ALONG THE RACE ROUTE IN PRACHATICE AND ČESKÝ KRUMLOV DISTRICT
The race route runs from Prachatice along secondary and tertiary roads, as well as local roads, passing through the villages of Husinec, Horouty, Dvory, Lažiště, Kratušín, Záblatí, Albrechtovice, Blažejovice (rest area), Zbytiny, Křišťanov, Markov, Tisovka, through the Boletice military training area, and continues through Chvalšiny, Křenov, Lazec, Vyšný, Jánské Údolí, rychtářov, Brloh, Kuklov, Smědeč, Záhoří, Chroboly, Leptač, and Rohanov back to Prachatice.
The route will be progressively closed with a lead time of approximately 15-30 minutes ahead of the lead cyclist and reopened shortly after the passage of the last cyclist within the time limit. The expected duration of closures is indicated on the map below, as well as the anticipated times of cyclists passing through.
On road II/141, between Libínské Sedlo and Blažejovice, mixed traffic will be allowed. For automotive traffic, the direction from Prachatice to Volary will remain open. In the opposite direction from Volary to Prachatice, during the race, motorists will need to use the route via roads I/39, I/4, and II/145 through Vimperk.
At the intersection of roads II/143, II/122, and II/166 in Smědeč, shuttle traffic control will be managed by members of the Czech Republic Police and informed individuals from the race organizer.
Crossing road II/141 near Prachatice will be managed by the Czech Republic Police, prioritizing race participants.
1.5 to 1 hour before the peloton, a promotional caravan will travel the route distributing gifts to fans (except between Vyšný and Nová Hospoda, and Rohanov and Lázně Sv. Markéty).
